Una Ventana

Siempre ha estado ahí,

intentando explicarme lo que soy.

Inevitable, necesaria, primitiva,

como el hambre o la sed

Una ventana.

Una ventana hacia el todo y la nada.

To open the Window

"Ventanas" is the new project by saxophonist and composer Edu Cabello, a suite of original pieces that blends contemporary jazz, hip hop, free improvisation and spoken word poetry. The album was born during a tour in China with the project El Bosque, where the group decided to open up their improvisations completely, embracing risk, error and radical listening. In one of those sessions, something unexpected and deeply moving emerged: the vivid image of a window opening within the sound space, an exhilarating invitation into the unknown.

That image became a symbol of the most primal creative impulse. The window represents the need to awaken from the numbness we are immersed in: the constant noise of social media, the logic of productivity, the passivity disguised as connection. The more we disconnect from the present, the more we drift away from others, and the more vulnerable we become to the traps of the system. Opening a window means listening to one's inner voice, reconnecting with the collective, with what is deep and alive. It also means creating, sharing and engaging with culture: art that moves us, questions us, stays with us. Culture as nourishment, as resistance, as a way of staying awake. In a world marked by polarization, structural violence and a succession of normalized wars, artistic creation becomes a form of care and awareness. Every person who opens a window to what is real, shared and present helps build a freer, more sensitive and more conscious world. Let's tip the balance.

More than just an album, Ventanas is a living experience. A creative response to the alienation of our time. An invitation to be present, to build community and to imagine other possible futures through sensitivity and deep listening.
